The last game of the season in the home of Anemos was an expected
victory in front of the largest and most enthusiastic audience of the
season! Fans of Anemos came from all over the city, along with friends and families from various players. Regarding the game itself, Anemos did not start well an trailed for the entire first period before the end of it with 15-17. In the second quarter Anemos played better but at the half time the visitors were still ahead 34-35. In the second half Anemos was much more concentrated in the defense, and by outsccoring Eclepens 32-19 a relaxed victory was achieved with 66-54. Francesco contributed 16 points (3 3-pointers), Vaggelis 15 points and a lot of rebounds, Carlos 12, Tassos 8, Kostas A 5 (with 1 3-pointer), Pantelis 4, and Nikos, Sakis and Vassilis each one contributed 2 points. This game concluded a season with a total record 8-13 (6-4 in the last 10 games) and Anemos finished in the 6th position. Fans of Anemos were hoping for the 5th position but a suprise victory of Eclepens in Prilly (40-48), kept Anemos in 6th position, while Eclepens clinched the 5th.
Now that the season is finished it is time to thank all Anemos members and discuss some highlights. Vaggelis was the top scorer with 21.1 PPG (190 in 9 games). Tassos scored the most accumulated points, with 237 points in 20 games (11.9 PPG). Francesco made a huge comeback with 101 points in the last part of the season in 6 games (16.8 PPG), while Carlos contributed in the basket with a lot of fights, rebounds, blocks and 177 points in 12 games (14.8 PPG). And of course the team would not be here without the support and the organization of Greg, the coaching of Thanos, and every other member of the team.
