Anemos - Palinzards 73-49

This is the week of coach Francescos. After Fragiskos Alvertis in Panathinaikos, coach Francesco coached Anemos officially for first time. In the debut of Francesco as coach, Anemos made a home win with 73-49. The game was close in the beginning (22-17 in 10') but as soon as the consecutive "cazzo" of the coach started having a difference, the defence was better and Anemos reduced the fast break points of the opponents. This game included the debut of Agis who helped significantly in 5 with strong movements with the back (18 points) and a lot of dirty work (8 rebounds and 6 fouls drawn). Apart from the two debuts, there was the long-awaited return of Arion who will give a lot energy in 3, helping a lot in rebounds and defense! Today, Dami was as usual very active with 23 points, 14 rebounds and 4 steals. Stelu, Kostis and Manos played in 1 and 2, where Stelu's contribution was invaluable as Francesco was on the bench for the whole as coach. Pantelis contributed even that he was injured with back problems. Vassilis made 6 points, and Yannis offered his usual quality time with the usual 10 points!

After the game, coach Franceso praised the effort of the team in the end. "I liked that my players were trying until the last minute and even in a virtually finished match they were trying to increase the margin until the last whistle of the referee" was a quote right after the conclusion of the game. "Good luck to my omonimo at Panathinaikos on Friday", he added.

And let's welcome Stelu to the club of people that are officially closer to 30 than 20!

EHL - Anemos 71-82

Anemos made an important away win with 71-82 against EHL.

Francesco 21(5), Tassos 18 (13reb), Dami 20(13reb) and Giannis 19, had a huge impact for a game that was pretty much decided by an amazing 3rd quarter (8-28 for Anemos).

Loutres - Anemos 44-84

One more easy win for Anemos, in fact with the largest margin (40 points) for this year. This was a team effort since 7 players scored 6 or more points! Great game by Dami in the defensive side while the scoring was shared. The game started slow (no points for 2 minutes) but quickly Anemos established their lead with 8-19 in Q1. The entire team participated in the first half with the score 20-36 at HT. While in Q3 Anemos started slow, quickly the rhythm was recuperated and the margin grew up to 26 points (31-57) in the end of Q3 with a alley-hoop from Francesco to Dami and a - thankfully minor - injury of Greg being the most noticeable events. In the final minutes Anemos continued strong to establish a 40 points margin by the end of the game.

Anemos - LausAngeles 82-55

Anemos won easily against the last team of the league table with 82-55. Dami lead scoring with 19 points while Francesco, Vassilis, Greg and Yannis had solid performance as well.

BlackSheep - Anemos 91-75

A strong game by Anemos ended up in a loss by one of the best teams of the league. A very competitive game for Francesco 28pts and 6 three pointers and solid contributions by Tassos, Greg and Dami.

Anemos - Droogs 69-57

A strong game by Anemos who started very bad (2-11 after 3', 7-17 in 7') but recovered quickly with a 22-2 partial score to reach the ten point margin (29-19) a few minutes before half time. Based on their good defense and aggressive offense Anemos secured the win in a somewhat comfortable second half (48-35 in 30' and 69-57 final score).

Francesco had a very good game with 22 points and 3 three-pointers, while Yannis offered 10 points, Greg 9 points mostly on fast-break, and Pantelis 8 points with a lot of work in defense and rebounds (as always!). Tasos also contributed 6 points with a lot of rebounds as well, Vassilis 6 points in his second appearance, Dami 4 points in his debute and Ludo 4 points as well.

Nestle - Anemos 89-56

A good game for Anemos for 30 minutes (with the score at 60-51) ended in a bad loss with 89-56 from a better team. Anemos simply did not have enough players to compete with the taller Nestle team when the fouls and the fatigue kicked in.

Francesco lead in scoring with 14 points and Vassilis made a very promising debut with 7 points and a good presence in the front-line. In the same game Stelu made her first appearance as well helping a lot the backcourt to create better situations in offense with her passing and shooting. As always very important contribution from Pantelis in both sides of the court (and 9 points) and from Yannis who gives a lot of aggressiveness in the inside game (8 points). Ludo (6 points), Kostis (8 points), Manos (4 points) and coach Thanos contributed in this game as well.
